Muse plays in full Goffertpark (55.000), a bit helped by special guest Editors, if it was the most normal thing in the world. And what a show!
The low outside temperature is the only blemish on this two hours thrilling entertainment, which we see Muse alternately bombastic, dramatic, flamboyant, maniacal, mysterious and even a little spontaneous. Muse is actually quite big and small: whether you're in front or one hundred meters backward (the sound, even far behind the towers, is sharp and flawless), the dots remain. That those three dots with such ease create such an overwhelming total audiovisual experience is almost unnatural. But we are therefore faced with a phenomenon. A phenomenon that is literally vibrates Goffertpark during the final of Knights Of Cydonia when fiftyfive thousand people jumping up and down. Those same fiftyfive thousand people are kept warm on the coldest day of this June. Muse gave them warmth and send them home without muddy feet.
Personal highlights? Bliss and Citizen Erased, two rarely played bangers breakthrough album Origin Of Symmetry, passed by. This really gave me memories of the time I saw them in Klubben (max 200?) in Stockholm. Brrrrrr .... these guys are truelly a phenomenon.
