Sun lotion, bottled water and the cry for a little shade. The 35,000 festival visitors at Rockin 'Park 2010 were having a hard time. With temperatures well over thirty degrees during the day, it was not always fun to stand on an open lawn. However, we - the so-called VIP's - had anough shade and the opportunity to get as many drinks as possible. Water, water, water, ...Despite the tropical temperatures made both MacDonald and the audience made a true party. We could listen to gentle and sweet songs interspersed with heavy uptempo rock songs. The audience found it all very well, especially after a few hits like This Is The Life Run.
However, the majority of visitors of Rockin 'Park came for the Pearl Jam show. Eddie Vedder, showed up earlier in the day on the main stage. Along with Ben Harper he sang queen and David Bowie's Under Pressure.
The concert of Pearl Jam was a real festival concert, with its 1.5 hours way too short ... and many hits. Personal favourites: "Just breathe" and the final song "Rockin' in the Free World"; my Neil Young obsession never fades. :p
