Searching on the Internet shows that large parts of the older brains are set to work. According to a small-scale American research, the Internet is a good method of keeping your older brains sharp.
Internet
That puzzling is good for your brain, is often proved. But the researchers from the University of California in Los Angeles are the first to view the brain activity of people who are surfing and searching on the Internet.
On MRI scans they saw that a reading task involves the brain, but that a search on the World Wide Web much more cerebral parts are excited. This appears to be only the case with the elderly who were already familiar with the Internet.
Experience
For the study a group of 24 volunteers between 55 and 76 years were examined. Half of them could cope well with the Internet, the other half had no experience. Both groups were similar in age, sex and training.
It is important for the elderly to keep their brains in shape, to stop the decline.
